Not only is this a great way to catch up with distant relatives, but it can also be a great reason to throw a party, while encouraging interest of family history and genealogy.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Planning Tips<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pick a date.<\/strong> Summer might be the only time available for some families, and it usually is the best season, because you can have your reunion outdoors and under a tent to keep everyone cool and in the shade; while having room to plan for other activities outside of the tent.<br \/>\nMake sure you <strong>pick a private location<\/strong>, so everyone can relax and be themselves, while also proving a safe place for the tent and accessories from vandalism.<br \/>\nNext you should <strong>form a budget<\/strong>, so you are not charging family to come and enjoy each others company.<br \/>\nAlways make sure you know how many people to plan for, and who is doing the food.<\/p>\n<p>Grilling is a great and effortless route for planning a simple, but delicious menu. Make sure you have a grill which can accommodate feeding a large group of people at one time. Simple menu ideas include: Easy Beverages, Appetizers, Salads, grilled main courses, and don\u2019t forget your desserts to end the day on a sweet note.<br \/>\nOne last essential are the <strong>rental items<\/strong>:tables, chairs, linens and decorations. Make sure you have enough tables and chairs to provide seating for everyone. Having a few extra chairs is always a good idea; this will also encourage movement and mingling within the group.<br \/>\nAn inexpensive decoration that you should not go with out are table linens.
